BrandNewMoments
Hello everyone!
Sadly, I dont have too much time this week but we keep moving forward to bring about the sacred work of the Lord Jesus Christ. But I would like to write real quick about something we learned yesterday. We had a mandatory Priesthood meeting for the stake and we were all super corrected about the difference between power and authority of the Priesthood. There is tons of authority everywhere planted in the world but the power seems to be diminished and it is unacceptable to the Lord to not be able to have it because of our laziness or immorality or dishonesty in the world.
Especially being a missionary, Ive learned more and more every day than I already knew that the time is close at hand for the Second Coming of the Savior. What will he find that day? the goal is that each and every one of us is temple and celestial kingdom worthy. But many of us in the world arent preparing well enough for it. Do we readily honor our covenants with complete fidelity? Do we use the Atonement as we should be? Is our faith a passive belief or does it turn into actions?
One more thing i learned this week. It is super dumb to "drive in the dark with the lights off" (story told by stake pres.) I really feel reinvigorated to try better and repent of all the things I am not doing right to better prepare every week for the memorial service that we attend to remember the One who died. Yes, that is sacrament meeting, or the funeral of Jesus Christ. Power and forgiveness is given to us if we want it but moreso when we are worthy of taking it. I leave with 2 questions. Will you remember Him always? and How will you remember Him always? Especially during the passing of His body and blood to you. Still shout for joy, because He lives again!
I love the mission! I love having the honor to be an honorable son of God to teach my brothers and sisters of the Doctrine of Christ.
God loves you all. Please come closer unto His Son and stay safe, away from anything that would rob you of your eternal destiny and of the Spirit. You cannot make it back home to the Celestial Kingdom with out first going through Christ. But I know the gospel is true and the Atonement is real and readily, immediately available to the meek and humble, ready to submit to the Lord in all things.
Love,
Elder Newman
